About Me
Hi! I’m Jaymee Krauter.
I’m a Certified EMDR Therapist & Consultant-in-Training, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania.
I became a trauma therapist after doing my own work to heal childhood trauma. It was in therapy that I learned that the root of my problems resulted from attachment trauma and that I had Complex PTSD. That realization created a complete paradigm shift. Discovering that I wasn’t the problem—that my trauma was—was both shocking and liberating. That truth opened the door to self-compassion, and that’s where my healing truly began.
My life experience, education, and ongoing professional development have helped me connect with clients on a deep, intuitive level. I “get” them—and they feel that. I build strong rapport because I can hold space without judgment, and nothing brings me more satisfaction than watching someone realize they are not permanently damaged—they were traumatized. And trauma can be healed.
Who I Work With
I help people who feel stuck and want more than just talk therapy—I work with those who are ready to get to the root of their struggles and find real solutions.
I specialize in working with adults whose emotional needs were unmet in childhood. Many of my clients are high-functioning and high-achieving, yet they struggle internally with anxiety, OCD, unresolved trauma, panic attacks, unhealthy relationship dynamics, low self-confidence, boundary issues, people-pleasing, performance anxiety, imposter syndrome, insecure attachment styles, emotional dysregulation, numbing behaviors, and more.
A big part of my work is teaching the skills that many didn’t learn as kids—how to: take better care of yourself, regulate your nervous system, communicate effectively, set boundaries, stand up for yourself, and ask for what you need. EMDR Therapy followed by skills building allows for a more holistic healing.
My Therapeutic Style
I take a strengths-based and solution-focused approach, blending Mindfulness, CBT, Attachment Theory, and EMDR. My style is directive—I don’t just sit and nod. I collaborate with my clients, challenge unhelpful patterns, and help them develop the tools they need to thrive.
While therapy looks different for everyone, the process follows a similar path. We start by exploring your life experiences—where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you want to be. Together, we identify what’s getting in the way and create strategies to move forward.
Why I Became a Therapist
Like many helpers, I got into this work while trying to heal my own wounds. My childhood was chaotic and dysfunctional—there was a lot of fighting in my home. I spent years struggling with attachment wounds, unhealthy relationships, emotional dysregulation, and undiagnosed ADHD.
Therapy changed my life and made the life I have today possible. I was lucky to find a therapist who truly understood me and gave me the tools I needed to heal. She introduced me to many of the approaches that not only helped me personally but now shape how I support my own clients. I’m incredibly grateful for the role she played in my life, and I hope to do the same for others.
